Summary:
Milestones Behavioral Services is seeking full time certified Special Education Teachers and Special Education Teachers eligible for Durational Shortage Area Permits (DSAP) for our school program. The Milestones school program is a private, non-profit, state approved school program that serves children ages 3-21 with Developmental Disabilities. Our teachers work as a team with Behavior Analysts to create and implement a variety of innovative programming for our students that is individualized to each of their needs. With team collaboration, Special Education Teachers have the opportunity to gain experience in programming for the social/emotional development, as well as the educational needs of students with Autism and related disorders. The work hours are 8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities include:
  • IEP development in collaboration with families and school districts

Required Qualifications for Special Education Teacher:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree a plus
  • CT Comprehensive Special Education Certification (K-12/CT 165), OR
  • Completed a minimum of 12 credits of coursework and working under a DSAP
  • Experience teaching children with autism preferred but, not required
  • Experience in applied behavior analysis strongly preferred
