DIRECTOR OF STUDENT FORMATION
All Saints Catholic School, Norwalk, CT
Executive Summary:
The primary focus of the Director of Student Formation reports to the Head of School and is to prepare young men and women to lead lives of commitment to the Gospel message of Jesus Christ, and to infuse love of Christ through discipleship. Under the direction of the Head of School, the Director of Student Formation in cooperation with the Chaplain, seeks to help all members of the school community develop and deepen their personal relationship with Christ and His Church.
The Director of Student Formation is delegated primary responsibility by the Head of School for the overall long-term planning, coordination, development, and evaluation of programs in the areas of student life (i.e., campus ministry, student activities, student behavior, student safety, athletics, and attendance).
Areas of shared responsibility and direction include student intervention support with the counseling staff and with the teaching staff when planning and coordinating special events, field trips, school culture/climate, and fostering the mission of All Saints Catholic School.
Qualifications:
The Director of Student Formation will mediate a Catholic culture within the school faith community; communicate Catholic moral and intellectual values; demonstrate precision, accuracy, self-direction, and collaboration in all areas of responsibility; develop joyful and professional interpersonal relationships with stakeholders; and view their service as a vocation that is grounded in truth, charity, hope, and joy.
The Director of Student Formation will demonstrate organizational, leadership, administrative skills, an ability to work independently on projects and a commitment to forming scholars intellectually, spiritually, humanly, and apostolically.
Experience:
A minimum of five years of experience in a Catholic school with demonstrated experience in developing and fostering collaborative and dynamic relationships with all internal and external stakeholders. The Director of Student Formation will have experience leading a robust student life program which includes experience planning all special events and activities for students, managing clubs, field trips and overseeing student behavior.

Specific Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate all school and individual class liturgies for All Saints, students, faculty, staff, parents & alumni.
- Plan and provide opportunities to scholars and staff to participate in prayer and the sacraments of the Catholic Church.
- Plan and direct the eighth-grade retreat.
- Be open to walking with students of various faith backgrounds and experiences.
- Collaborates with Chaplain, and Counseling staff to support and minister to students, faculty, and staff when tragedy occurs that impacts the community including illness, death, local/global events etc.
- Creates small Christian Faith Communities of parents and provides opportunities for Adult Faith Formation.
- Mentor and provide opportunities for student leadership through faith experiences.
- Serves as Chairperson of the Upper School House Leadership Counsel.
- Organizes and oversees a robust student life program including co-curricular, extracurricular and athletic programs
- Exhibit a ministry of presence by supporting and students both in school and extracurricular activities like athletic games, performances, school dances, etc.
- Inform Administration of Student Life and Formation programming on a regular basis
- Manage annual budget and expenses Student for Life.
- Serve as the liaison between the administration and parents/guardians around all external student events.
- Chairs the student formation committee and recommends as necessary student disciplinary actions.
- Support the admission director in leading activities to recruit new students.
- Support the strategic plan, especially in the area of student life by empowering student leaders.
- Practicing Roman Catholic, in good standing
- Bachelor’s Degree Required/ Masters Preferred
- Demonstrated experience teaching in a Catholic School
- Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level
