Long Term Substitute Technology Integration Specialist
(2023-24 School Year Only)

POSITION SUMMARY
The successful candidate will provide exceptional technology support and assistance to the students and staff of New Canaan High School, while also encouraging community members to utilize the NCHS Makerspace by offering training, assistance, and access throughout the year.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Demonstrate a desire to serve students in an “above and beyond mentality”, working closely with students to help them utilize personal devices and district software to be productive learners.
2. Solve technology issues in a positive, efficient manner while communicating closely with related teaching and student staff.
3. Familiarity with a range of learning software including ( not limited to) Learning Management Systems, productivity tools, lockdown browsers, printing software and learning applications.
4.Support student use of 3D printing tools, including student training, hardware no software maintenance and supply ordering.
5. Respond in a timely manner, to support requests for hardware/software troubleshooting, maintenance or repair work.
6. Communicate regularly with end-users regarding status of requests.
7. Work closely with the NCHS library team and act as a first-point-of support for key instructional software tools.
8. Knowledge of or demonstrable willingness to use diverse materials to create like wood, cardboard, styrofoam, paper mache, metal, programming, 3D Printer, Laser Engraver, etc.
9. Experience in programming languages such as Scratch Jr./Scratch, Python, C++, Javascript, XCode, HTML, and block coding, Autodesk Inventor.
10. Collaborate with the Director of Digital Learning on learning software recommendations, best practices in classrooms, and researching new technologies to incorporate into the curriculum.
11. Perform other duties deemed appropriate by the Director of Digital Learning
QUALIFICATIONS
College Degree preferred.
2. Service oriented with interpersonal skills capable of establishing positive and productive working relationships with end-users.
3. Strong time management skills to manage multiple projects and assignments.
4. Analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving hardware and/or application related issues.
5. Familiarity with a range of educational technologies and software relevant to STEM education, including interactive simulations, modeling tools, educational apps, and online learning platforms.
6. Ability to operate and instruct students on the proper use of lab equipment, such as 3D printers, Makerspace technology such as arduinos, Raspberry pi, and other specialized tools.
7. Understanding of computer hardware components, networking basics, and troubleshooting skills, especially if teaching subjects related to computer science or engineering.
8. Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting 3D printers and knowledge of prototyping techniques, if applicable to the curriculum.
