Regional School District 8 is seeking a 1.0 FTE long term substitute school social worker to provide support for students experiencing struggles related to school anxiety and social/emotional concerns and to work collaboratively with the district’s 7-12 School Resilience program.

Regional School District 8 is seeking a 1.0 FTE long term substitute school social worker to provide support for students experiencing struggles related to school anxiety and social/emotional concerns and to work collaboratively with the district’s 7-12 School Resilience program.
Essential Performance Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and conduct appropriate assessments and observations, create written reports, and communicate findings orally at PPT and 504 meetings.
- Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping.
- Provide individualized and group counseling for students with social/emotional/behavioral issues.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Conduct risk and threat assessments as needed.
- Attend PPT meetings, 504 meetings, and team meetings, as scheduled, and participate in the district’s SRBI and CORE teams.
- Provide assistance to the PPT team in developing appropriate IEP goals and objectives, as they relate to social/emotional/behavioral needs.
- Collaborate and communicate with school-based staff, community health providers, and social welfare agencies.
- Attend staff, department, and professional meetings.
- Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensure effective communication with students and parents.
- Provide information regarding community resources to help assist families in need
- Maintain knowledge of new developments in the field.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by Administration.
