ACES at Helen Doron Academy, an Early Childhood Spanish Language Immersion Preschool in Newtown, CT

Job responsibilities:
  • Greet parents and visitors, and create a welcoming and safe environment.
  • Execute timely, efficient, and effective operations of the office and learning academy.
  • Manage communications: daily phone calls, emails and mail.
  • Assist with copying, scanning, faxing, emailing, and note-taking.
  • Manage and order office supplies and coordinate equipment maintenance.
  • Organize, coordinate, and support school events, registrations, parent contact information, interviews, meetings, and conferences.
  • Conduct research (within skills and expertise) to assist with projects or inquiries.
  • Perform other general clerical and secretarial duties as requested or assigned.
  • General collaboration with staff.
  • Support Head Teacher with inventory and re-order.
  • Cover short breaks, snack time, or move children between rooms and playground
  • Bilingual Spanish speaker, reader, and writer (preferred)
As a secretary, the candidate will support ACES at Helen Doron Academy with high quality early education programming. Candidate must be comfortable with or have relevant experience in early childhood learning environments. Candidate must be willing and able to participate in various administrative and staff support roles, including communicating with parents, student registration, and helping teachers.

This position will require some sitting and working on the computer for periods of time. It will also require walking to classrooms or other rooms in the building to carrying light materials.
