In accordance with Teamsters Contract
2022/2023 (range $24.97/hr - $33.29/hr)
Summary of Responsibilities:
To provide a wide variety of complex and confidential administrative and secretarial support to the Assistant Superintendent; communicating information on behalf of Assistant Superintendent to school and district staff, other districts, public agencies, etc., ensuring compliance of department/program activities with financial, legal and administrative requirements; and acting as the liaison between the Assistant Superintendent and other parties, providing information, addressing issues and/or providing general support.
Essential Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Assists with the coordination and management of student performance data assessments (SBAC, STAR, NGSS, etc.)
  • Coordination and prioritization of calendar activities of the Assistant Superintendent
  • Provide support to ensure effective management and implementation of strategic budgeting
  • Manages the TalentEd teacher evaluation platform
  • Assists with district grants using the EGMS system
  • Assists administration with coordination and management of TEAM members
  • Ability to learn new software applications including PowerSchool, MUNIS, and applications listed above
  • Responsible for contacting outside vendors, including consultants, to coordinate services and verifying that invoices match service delivery
  • Manages district communications regarding curriculum and instruction initiatives (includes weekly schedules of curriculum team & various memos, presentations, and newsletters)
  • Prepare purchase orders in MUNIS for approval
  • Coordinate and communicate training and or professional development programs for staff as directed      
  • Uses high levels of tact and diplomacy when interacting with all staff, the public, and other town agencies
  • Team player with active listening skills who takes initiative and exercises independent judgement consistent with the goals and norms of the district
  • Maintains confidentiality and instills trust with all central office and building staff
  • Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent
Education and/or Experience:
  • Skills and knowledge required would generally be acquired with an Associate Degree in secretarial science (4 year degree in education and/or mathematics concentration preferred) and/or four years of secretarial/administrative assistant experience
  • Knowledge and competence in using computers and applications such as Google Suite and Microsoft Office, etc.
