SPANISH TEACHER
Job Title: Spanish Teacher
Reports to: Principal
Position Summary: To develop in each student an understanding and appreciation of Spanish cultural regions of the world and the issues and challenges that unite and divide them; to provide opportunities for students to understand the Spanish language and dialects as it relates to culture, resource management, conflict, and human rights; and to create and implement Spanish curriculum to prepare students to be life-long global citizens.

Qualifications:
- 023 certification and experience teaching Spanish
- Experience in curriculum writing
- Ability to plan and support staff with global studies instructional strategies
- Develop a standards-based curriculum.
- Provide whole group, individual, and small group instruction in order to adapt the foreign language curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual abilities, motivational skills, and cultural backgrounds.
- Develop, administer, and evaluate quality formative and summative assessments.
- Commitment to on-going professional development in content area and pedagogy.
- Organize global studies themed events throughout the year.
- Provide pre- and post-evaluation of the foreign language program.
- Knowledge of cognitive development and learning styles.
- Ability to write and implement a foreign language curriculum.
- Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter in supporting the global mission of the school.
- Demonstrated ability to work with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Work collaboratively with elementary, middle, and high school teams to differentiate instruction, integrate the foreign language curriculum with other academic and unified arts curriculum standards, and share print and non-print foreign language materials with teachers.
- Experience in the use of educational technology.
