Job Description:
The Woodbridge School District, a one facility PK-6 elementary district comprised of approximately 840 students, has a Multi-Age elementary classroom teaching position available for the 2019/20 school year. The salary is in accordance with the WEA Contract. This position reports to building administration. Salary is in accordance with WEA Contract. Requirements for the position are:
  • Assess students for English Language Proficiency, complete state reports, attend local and state EL meetings/provide professional learning to faculty.
  • Plan for and provide instruction to English Learners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure English Learners access to curriculum through differentiated instruction.
  • Promotes an instructional learning environment that supports program goals of BRS related to balanced literacy with a focus on Readers/Writers Workshops.
  • Assess, schedule and provide direct instruction to support SRBI.
  • Develops systems for data collection.
  • Interacts with grade level teams to collect and analyze student data and collaborates to plan instruction/ intervention.
  • Collaborates with Language Arts team and faculty to revise curriculum as needed under supervision of principal.
  • Reports on accomplishments of program initiatives and makes recommendations intended to support program improvement as a member of the Language Arts team.
REQUIREMENTS: State of Connecticut Teaching Certificate – 111 TESOL, PK-12 AND hold or be eligible for 102 Endorsement (Remedial Reading/Language Arts) and minimum of three years successful related experience.
