Position: Long-term Sub. Special Education Teacher, Strong Middle School (Grades 7-8)

Position Available: 3/1/19 through end of 2018-19 School Year

School District: Regional School District 13, Durham/Middlefield, Connecticut

School: Strong Middle School

Reports to: Director of Student Services and Special Education/Strong Principal

Position Description: Regional School District 13 is seeking a certified Special Education Teacher for the 2018-2019 school year.

Qualifications:
? Current and Valid CT Certification as a Special Education Teacher (065 or 165)
? Experience in working with diverse disabilities
? Strong ability to develop and maintain communication and rapport with parents.
? Knowledge of evidence-based learning strategies to support identified students in the least restrictive environment
? Ability to collect, manage and analyze data to measure student progress and inform instruction
? Experience in formal evaluation and assessment practices
? Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all stakeholders
? Ability to demonstrate excellent organizational skills, a high degree of flexibility and initiative
