Job Description:
Level 1 IT Support Technician Full-time - 35 hour / week


We are looking for a Level I IT Support Professional who is a highly-motivated team player with excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate should also be a highly energetic person with a thirst for knowledge, a level-headed demeanor, a love of technology, and interacting with staff and students.
This role will be responsible for providing technical support to all staff, student’s and BOE members. If you are motivated to learn and grow your IT skills and expose yourself to a wide range of technologies, we are happy to provide you with training to take your career further.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Supporting our schools technical needs related to both hardware, software, and any documentation of technical process or support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve a variety of technical issues regarding, desktop/laptop hardware, application software, and peripheral devices; escalate issues as needed.
  • Provide first line troubleshooting response for video systems as well as other technology related systems and equipment.
  • Supports the technical administration of PowerSchool, PowerTeacher, Parent Portal, and Student Registration. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems.
  • Able to learn and support new and quickly-changing technologies.
  • Maintain inventory of all IT assets and current documentation.
  • Manage Vendor relationships.
  • Working knowledge of:
    •    Microsoft Windows for PC’s
    •    Chromebooks
    •    Google docs, email G-suite
    •    Microsoft Office Suite
    •    Basic Network Troubleshooting - TCP/IP and general WAN/LAN troubleshooting
    •    Apple hardware a plus
    •    Microsoft server knowledge a plus
    •    PowerSchool knowledge a plus
    •    School messenger presence / web design  knowledge a plus
  • Other technology-related duties as assigned by the Information Technology Director.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Must have use of a personal vehicle and a valid CT driver's license.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking.
