POSITION SUMMARY
The Advancement Director has responsibility for the institutional advancement and promotion of the school and reports to the Head of School. This includes raising funds for the various giving programs and communicating with the donor base. The Director of Advancement provides regular communications to the Head of School and the school board through the advancement committee.  The Director of Advancement manages the Advancement staff and also maintains, recruits and manages volunteers for a variety of Advancement functions of the school.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
ANNUAL FUND – The director coordinates and oversees the annual fund drive, plans and supervises all direct contacts including printed and electronic mailings and personal visits associated with the annual fund.  The director identifies researches and cultivates major donor prospects as well as business contacts. The director along with the Advancement Committee of the School Board maintains a five-year plan of annual giving. The development director oversees the production, printing and distribution of the annual report. The director maintains records of all donations and contributions to the annual appeal, memorial scholarships, gifts-in-kind, major gifts, etc. and prepares the honor roll for the annual report.
MAJOR GIFTS – The director cultivates donors for major gifts that include capital improvements, scholarships & endowments.  The director assists with donor-designated estate planning and planned giving seminars. 
CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
The director is responsible for planning and implementation of capital campaign.  This includes a feasibility study and implementation of the campaign itself. 
ALUMNI(AE) – The director is responsible for working with alumni(ae) to further enhance alumni(ae) relations that will assist with continued support for the school.  The Advancement Director works in conjunction with the advancement staff and other school development to facilitate production of the EAGLE Publication which contains alumni(ae) news and information.  The director helps organize special events for alumni(ae) locally, regionally and supports reunions.  The director collaborates with the schools, facilitates marketing communication and social media efforts. 
PLANNED AND ENDOWED GIVING
The director of advancement is responsible for the application of various programs for beneficial giving to the school.  These programs may include Planned Giving, Endowment Giving, Named Scholarships, Foundation and Corporate Giving and other such programs.  The director should be skilled at assessing the particular donor situation and applying successfully the appropriate giving program.
DATABASE - The director maintains and updates the Little Green Light database of alumni(ae), past parents, current parents, and friends. The director is responsible for analyzing this list, and using the Wealth Screener database to augment the potential donor list.  The director will be responsible for increasing giving among certain categories of donors as developed each year.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION – Knowledge of the following programs are required – Little Green Light, and Microsoft Office.  The director is expected to work evenings and weekends when necessary and be able to travel for donor cultivation and solicitation.  Attendance at evening and weekend school events is required.

Qualifications include:
  • Preference will be given to practicing Catholic in good standing with the Roman Catholic Church
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of five years of experience in advancement, marketing or an allied field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Microsoft Excel), and database management required
  • An ability to embrace and work collaboratively in a highly challenging and visible work environment
  • Excellent organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Experienced and time-effective traveler
  • Must submit to a background check and VIRTUS training
