ISAAC is a 501c3 organization that serves 270 students from over 13 surrounding towns of New London County.  ISAAC has a mission to inspire students through the arts, communication, and exploration in a collaborative, multicultural learning environment to be courageous citizens who are difference makers.

  • Participate enthusiastically in all professional development opportunities with a growth mindset.
  • Push self and colleagues to consider multiple perspectives and incorporate new learning into daily planning and instructional practices.
  • Advocate for students, families, and the ISAAC Community at large in order to share the mission and vision for student achievement.
  • Develop and implement research-based practices that showcase mastery of discipline/content and/or mathematics and literacy interventions.

  • A strong desire to be innovative, connect with students through arts and communication their passions/experiences, and seek to change the status quo of public education.
  • An unyielding work ethic and unwillingness to accept mediocrity from self, students, and others.
  • A relentless drive to improve, including actively seeking feedback from peers and leadership, and incorporating innovative, research-based instructional practices into the classroom.
  • A strong, fundamental knowledge of instructional best practices and classroom management strategies aimed at creating self-sustained and responsible learners.
  • A willingness to actively plan and co-teach with others.
  • A collaborative sense of humor and professional maturity and humility.
Required Educational Background and Work Experience:
  • Classroom teaching experience and proven record of high achievement with middle school students preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a competitive college or university; Master’s degree a plus.
  • Certification: Valid CT Certification.
