Job Description:

Coordinator of Special Services    
FLSA Status:                    Exempt
Hours of Work:     Monday to Friday - 8:00am to 4:00pm
Position Summary: The Coordinator of Special services will work cooperatively with all instructional faculty and parents to provide an appropriate education program for students with learning difficulties.
Job Responsibilities: 
  • Write intervention plans for students requiring special services
  • Conduct parent meetings for all students receiving special services
  • Assist during meetings requiring possible special services intervention
  • Conduct Child Study Team meetings when referrals are made.
  • Submit referrals to outside clinicians, when applicable
  • Push into classes that require one or more students receiving special services
  • Pull out student(s) requiring explicit instruction
  • Conduct follow up calls/meetings with parents of student in crisis
  • Consult with teachers in need of classroom strategies for students with disabilities
  • Collaborate with teachers regarding behavioral intervention strategies
  • Assist teachers with executive functioning and planning for their classrooms
Basic Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • Valid and current Special Education Licensure
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high energy environment with a proven ability to meet multiple deadlines and tasks
  • Results-oriented, hands-on team player who is dedicated to getting the job done
