Job Description:
The Glenholme School, a specialized therapeutic boarding school for students with special needs, is looking for a caring professional to serve as a Nurse Supervisor. Devereux Glenholme School is a therapeutic boarding school for young people diagnosed with Asperger’s, ADHD, PDD, OCD, Tourette’s, depression, anxiety, and various learning differences. The program provides a treatment milieu designed to build competence socially and academically.

This role will administer medical care, prescribed treatments and medications to children in accordance with established medical procedures, as well as manage the other medical staff and work closely with the Clinical Director and Physician.  

$2,000 Sign on bonus ***Housing available for single occupancy*** 

As the Nurse Supervisor, you will:
- Examine students with medical and/or physical complaints. Administer first aid and medical treatments, as needed. Refer students with illness/injury to physician for further treatment.
- Develop Medical Treatment Plan for each student, and attend PPT’s, as requested. Implement physician’s prescriptions for medication and treatments.
- Prepare medication envelopes and pour on weekly schedule. Administer medication to students. Communicate medication changes, treatments, and observations to appropriate staff. Communicate medical information on all students to outside medical professionals, parents and agencies, as required.
- Oversee coordination of student’s medical appointments with outside medical professionals. Coordinate scheduling of student appointments with consulting physicians (Pediatrician and Psychiatrist)
- Attend Clinical and Treatment Team meetings. Provide staff in-service training in emergency medical procedures, use of medical equipment, and any special medical circumstances. Attend student enrollments to review medical history, current medications and insurance information.
- Maintain medical records of students including medical history, drug reactions, allergies, prescribed medications, immunizations. Maintain records of medical supplies and equipment. Order or replace, as needed or required.
- Plan and implement, in conjunction with medical colleagues, supervisors and Administrators, standards, objectives and procedures of students health program (nutrition, personal hygiene, grooming care, etc.).
- Meet with state or agency officials, as required, for licensing or inspections.
 
Job Requirements:  
- Connecticut RN License and 3 years pediatric/clinical experience required.
- Managerial experience and DPH and DCF experience.
- Experience with electronic medical records.
- Valid CT Driver’s License and CPR/First Aid Certification.
