Human Resources Specialist
Start Date:  February 2017
Salary Range – 20.00 – 25.00 hourly
12 months, 37.5 hours/weekly

This position will become an integral member of the Talent Services team, with emphasis on employee and applicant assistance, service quality, accuracy, database maintenance and reporting.

Duties Include:
  1. Utilizing the MUNIS software system, communicates to payroll all employee information pertaining to the processing of new employees, salary changes, transfers, updates etc.
  2. Administers position control in the HR/Payroll system.
  3. Provides timely information to departments, including Technology and building administrators, regarding new hires, terminations, transfers, etc.
  4. Develops and maintains employee databases, including but not limited to staff
demographics, insurance enrollment, personal information, withholding elections, certification, transfers, seniority etc.
  1. Assists Human Resources Manager with recruitment and on-boarding activities
  2. Assists employees with paperwork and use of Employee Self Service system
  3. Requisitions and processes employer-paid benefits
  4. Tracks and ensures compliance with background investigation, state reporting and teacher certification requirements
  5. Assists Payroll Coordinator with proofing
  6. Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. High School diploma or GED
  2. At least three years of experience in a high volume human resources environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification
  2. Bachelor of Arts or Science degree with relevant coursework
  3. Experience with MUNIS Human Resources and Payroll software modules
  4. Basic understanding of payroll operations

Required Skills:
  1. Ability to provide a superior customer experience within a structured environment
  2. A strong working knowledge and competencies in all Microsoft Office applications.
  3. Ability to prioritize, organize and manage multiple functions simultaneously.
  4. Ability to work collaboratively and confidentially with employee and Central Office data
