Position: Adult English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Teacher – Intermediate Level
Department: Shoreline Adult Education (SAE)
Reports to: Director of Adult Education
Location: Branford High School
Pay Rate: $110 per class session

Position: Adult English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Teacher – Intermediate Level
Department: Shoreline Adult Education (SAE)
Reports to: Director of Adult Education
Location: Branford High School
Pay Rate: $110 per class session
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide standards-based English language instruction that is appropriate to the maturity and interest of adult students.
- Follow grant guidelines and State Department of Education mandates.
- Maintain required student documentation for program compliance.
- Work as a team member to assist students in meeting academic and career goals.
- Valid CT Teaching Certification with Endorsement #088 English to Non-English Speaking Adults (or willing to obtain certification within a year) - Endorsement #111 TESOL is also acceptable.
- Able to work with a variety of people from other cultures with limited English language proficiency
- Knowledgeable of pedagogy and current practices in the field of TESOL
- Proficient in Google Workspace Applications, including Google Classroom
- Familiarity with adult education a plus
- Mondays & Wednesdays: 6:00 – 8:00 PM
- August 17 – September 11 scheduled meetings/orientation
- September 14, 2026 classes begin through the academic year
