Position Title: Teacher - Music
Classification: 102, Certified CEA
Reports To: Building Principal

POSITION SUMMARY: 
 
The purpose of this posting is to create a pool of talented employees for the 2026-27 School Year. CREC seeks talented Music teachers for a teaching position at our various magnet schools.  Please apply to this position if you are a committed educator who is looking to work in a diverse school setting with a social justice mindset. Music teachers work under the general supervision of their school principal performing the essential performance responsibilities listed below.
 
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Develop and administer curriculum consistent with school district and national music  standards, goals, and objectives
  • Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small-group instruction, and student learning
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials for Music - this may be specific to grade; instrumental, choral or general music - and translate lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student needs, including the needs of students with special needs; conduct individual and small-group instruction as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by school administration

QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
