NEW HARTFORD PUBLIC SCHOOLS JOB OPENING
New Hartford Public Schools is seeking an outstanding candidate for the position of Licensed Professional Nurse/Special Education Paraeducator at New Hartford Public Schools 0.5 FTE.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Provide 1:1 support for medically complex student
• Provide 1:1 nursing support for medically complex student
• Assist in individual pupil instruction
• Assist teacher in maintaining discipline
• Assist teacher in data collection
• May escort child to and from various rooms
• Toileting may be required 
• Regular attendance is required for this position 
• Will involve work with special education student(s) under direction of a certified teacher

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Two years of college credit OR hold an associate’s (or higher) degree; OR successful completion of a paraprofessional assessment
Current LPN license
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, comprehend and follow simple directions, short correspondence, and memos.  Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.  Effectively communicate with special education teachers.
 
REASONING ABILITY
Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to problem solve scenarios involving a few concrete variables.

The Paraeducator/LPN is responsible for the safety and well-being of the student in their charge.

HOURS
11am- 2pm Monday-Friday 

SALARY
