Job Title: Long Term Substitute Social Worker
Reports To: Director of Pupil Services, Principal of School
Location: Tuttle Elementary
Education: The successful candidate must hold current CT certification in Social Work (071).
This is a full time position for an unspecified length of time. The salary is $140.00 per day from day 1-40 and increases to $282.53 per day starting at day 41. There are no benefits
associated with this position.
Minimum Qualifications/Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
This is a specialized teaching position that falls under the Teachers’ Contract.

Minimum Qualifications/Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
- To be able to consult and collaborate with teachers, administrators, support staff, parents, and outside providers in promoting student success
- Understand special education and be current regarding Federal and State laws, District policies, PPT and referral process and IEP knowledge
- To know how to refer to the Court
- DCF mandates and hotline knowledge
- To be able to complete psychosocial assessments, developmental histories, FBA's, BIP's, writing IEP goals and objectives
- Crisis Intervention: social, emotional, behavioral, psychiatric
- Be knowledgeable and current regarding available community resources
- Provide individual and group counseling/social skills services for both IEP mandated, and through parental permission with non-IEP students in need
- Provide parent education, resources and home visits, as needed
