POSITION TITLE:  Library Media Tutor
DEPARTMENT:  Harry S. Fisher Elementary School
REPORTS TO:  Principal
CERTIFICATIONS:  None
QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) from an institution of higher education
  • Ability to relate well to students and understand their needs.
  • Ability to establish good relationships with the staff.
  • Provide services, resources, and guidance to students and teachers in the school library.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  
  1. Conduct weekly Library-Media programing like story time.
  2. Assist students and teachers in locating materials and information.
  3. Create and conduct technology skills activities and research skills activities for students.
  4. Promote reading.
  5. Collaborate with the certified Library-Media Specialist.
  6. Check in all orders received in the library, verifying their completeness and proper order fulfillment.
  7. Input data on new library materials into the computer system as needed.
  8. Perform circulation activities.
SALARY:        $22.00 per hour
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  29.5 hours per week; date and times to be determined by the                                                         principal.  This position also has a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
BENEFITS:     This position does not carry any benefits.
