Position: K-12 Instructional Technology Curriculum Specialist (two-year assignment)
School: Home School TBD
Reports To: Instructional Supervisors for Curriculum and Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum
Start Date: On or around July 1, 2025 to allow the scheduling of the additional (7) contracted days
Compensation: $56,162 - $111,280 (full-time annual) teacher work year plus an additional seven (7) days

Duties of the position include the following:

Duties of the position include the following:
- Provide coaching for teachers in implementing curriculum and best practices and research-based instructional strategies across the content areas and in alignment with the School and District Improvement plans;
- Assist classroom teachers with using assessment results to determine student needs and evaluate student progress;
- Work with classroom teachers in developing differentiated classroom strategies and activities that address enrichment as well as intervention needs of students;
- Assist classroom teachers with developing curriculum mapping and common formative assessments;
- Coordinate, organize, and implement effective professional development;
- Provide information on current research, best practices, and materials for school-based staff;
- Collaborate with the building-based school improvement/leadership teams, grade level teams, data teams, etc. to enhance program improvement;
- Collaborate with administrators to enhance program improvement including piloting materials, supporting program improvement goals, and providing feedback from teachers;
- Collaborate on the review and selection of instructional technology materials and software for content areas;
- Attend state/national content area meetings and network to improve programmatic outcomes;
- Renew and manage district software subscriptions, and pursue student data privacy agreements as necessary;
- Provide technical assistance and support classroom teachers with problem-solving around technical and instructional questions;
- Collaborate with teachers, teacher-leaders, and administrators to review and evaluate software and assistive technology to ensure alignment with vision, budget and curricular goals
- CT Certification in grades K-12 is preferred, as this role works closely with teachers at all levels. Certification may be in a variety of areas.
- Master’s Degree in curriculum, education, instructional technology, or core content area is preferred but not required;
- Five years of experience as a professional educator, with evidence of a high level of proficiency in teaching, a thorough knowledge of instructional strategies, child development, curriculum, and classroom management required;
- Google Certified Teacher or other certification programs (AI, etc.) preferred;
- Ability to articulate specific knowledge of current theory, best practices, and school leadership;
- Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills to lead teachers, parents, and members of the school community;
- Ability to bring research-based insight to curriculum development in order to improve student achievement;
- Knowledge of best practices in instruction and assessment;
- Experience with special populations;
- Demonstrated expertise in a variety of content areas related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment;
- Ability to integrate instructional technology resources into district curriculum;
- Ability to read, interpret, and summarize assessment results including standardized tests;
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence;
- Ability to speak effectively before administrators, staff, parents and students;
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists;
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to apply knowledge of current educational research and theory;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community
