Lead Preschool Teacher
St. James Catholic School - Stratford, CT

St. James School is hiring a full-time, Preschool Lead Teacher.  Candidates must be positive, gentle, caring, and loves working with children 2 to 3 years of age.  Creativity, organizational skills, and passion for a Montessori-inspired education are paramount!
 
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Demonstrates effective planning skills by preparing lessons designed for an Early Childhood (specifically ages 2-3 years old)
• Promotes a classroom environment that is safe, caring, and nurturing
• Effective manager of 2-3 year olds using age-appropriate strategies
• Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learning of current developments in the educational field
• Encourages parental involvement in children's education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 

• Bachelor’s Degree accredited college/university in Early Childhood Education or related discipline to teaching assignment
• Active member of a faith community and is open to the importance of personal faith journey; strives to model the teaching of Jesus by attitude and example
• Passion for working with children 2 to 3 years of age!

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Classroom experience teaching or assisting in a preschool classroom
• A Montessori credential or experience teaching in a Montessori environment
