Job Description:
PARAPROFESSIONAL - Part time at Black Rock School (Gr PreK-3)

Per CSDE https://portal.ct.gov/SDE/Paraeducator/Paraeducator-Information-and-Resources, applicants must have:

• Earned a secondary school diploma, or its equivalent.
• Completed 2 years of study at an institution of higher education, OR Earned an Associate’s Degree (or higher), OR Achieve at least a score of 457 on the ETS ParaPro Assessment to:
  Demonstrate knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing in:
  • Reading, writing, and mathematics;
  • Reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness

Hours per Regular School Day:  5.0 hour shift per regular, in-person school day

• Payrate: $16.58 per hour for *first 60 work days (*Probationary period); $18.42 per hour after successful completion of 60 work day probationary period
• Medical Benefits, Paid Leave Time (Sick, Personal, Vacation), Paid Holidays:  In accordance with the current agreement between the Thomaston Board of Education and the AFSCME employees)
