Mathematics Interventionist and Instructional Coach
Kolbe Cathedral Preparatory School, Bridgeport, CT

Job Summary:
Kolbe Cathedral Preparatory School seeks a dedicated and dynamic Mathematics Interventionist and Instructional Coach to foster significant student growth in mathematics. This pivotal role involves providing targeted small group instruction (intervention and enrichment) based on comprehensive data analysis, collaborating closely with mathematics teachers to implement exemplary instructional practices and a rigorous, grade-level curriculum, and contributing to a collaborative leadership team focused on holistic student success. The Interventionist and Coach will also play a key role in planning and facilitating the Freshman Academy, a program designed to equip students with essential Executive Functioning skills for academic achievement.

Working Conditions:
  • This is a full-time position that may require flexibility in scheduling to accommodate meetings, professional development activities, and school events.
  • The role necessitates working with students in a variety of educational settings, including traditional classrooms and small group intervention environments.
  • The school facilities consist of two buildings located approximately half a block apart, requiring occasional walking between them.
  • Kolbe Cathedral Preparatory School operates on a 4x4 block schedule, where most mathematics courses are completed within a single semester with daily 84-minute class periods.
  • Occasional evening work may be required for meetings, professional development sessions, or school-related events.

Overarching Goals:
  • Lead the transition towards a more inquiry-based mathematics curriculum while maintaining full alignment with Connecticut State Standards.
  • Provide comprehensive support to mathematics teachers in effectively implementing the curriculum, structuring engaging lessons, and adopting data-driven instructional practices.
  • Work directly with students to support their mastery of foundational mathematical skills, collaborating closely with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to establish appropriate and achievable learning goals.
Qualifications:
  • Master’s in Math Ed or related
  • CT Math certification (or equivalent)
  • Experience with diverse learners & data-driven instruction
  • Instructional coaching experience preferred
  • Practicing Roman Catholic, in good standing
