Description:  Ellington Public Schools has an opening for a full time Social Studies teacher at Ellington High School beginning August 2025.
 
Qualifications:  Applicants must hold or be eligible for a State of Connecticut teaching endorsement for Social Studies (026). A state and national criminal check will be required as well as a DCF search.

Primary responsibilities include: 

• Planning engaging lessons and developing instructional materials and assessments
• Creating a welcoming and structured classroom environment
• Working with the department to develop curriculum on an ongoing basis
• Participating in professional growth activities

 The ideal candidate will: 

• Be prepared to teach any assigned social studies class from the program of studies
• Be a team player willing to work in a strong, collaborative environment
• Have strong technology skills in both Microsoft Office and the Google platform
