Job Title: Director of Data and Operations
Department: Office of the Superintendent of Schools (OSS)
Reports To: Superintendent of Schools
FLSA Status: Exempt - Part time/ Full time negotiable
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY: The Director of Data and Operations is a ministerial position responsible for providing support the Office of the Superintendent and the Diocese of Bridgeport in meeting its mission. S/he provides guidance to the Office of the Superintendent in the areas of data management and finance, as well as school’s operations and their adherence to policy and procedure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supports the OSS in the planning and management of departmental budgets;
• Reviews invoices and codes appropriately for approval;
• Utilizes school-wide data systems (e.g. Rediker, FACTS) to provide weekly/monthly reports on finance and enrollment as requested;
• Compiles data reports based on assessment results from the student diagnostic system;
• Researches and analyzes data and communicates findings in formats that are easily understood and actionable to facilitate planning
and operational improvements to support schools, ultimately improving student success;
• Reviews contracts between schools and vendors to ensure suitability and adherence to policies and procedures;
• Coordinates with OSS colleagues in offering professional development for school administrators;
• Researches and provides guidance on grants and funding opportunities;
• Researches and provides guidance on legislative issues that may affect schools and students;
• Works with staff in the Office of the Superintendent in creating OSS reports; e.g. an annual report;
• Serves as PDSO (principal designated school official) for international students, issues I-20’s, maintains SEVIS
(Student and Exchange Visitor Information System);
• Assists schools in the accreditation process;
• Works with other diocesan offices (Legal, Safe Environments, Finance, etc.) as needed;
• Completes special projects;
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Be an active practicing Catholic, in good standing with the Catholic Church
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field
• Three years or more of experience in operations and/or data management
• Significant understanding of the operations and finances of schools
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communications skills
• Possess superior research and data analysis skills
• Be available for evening/weekend meetings/events as necessary
• Be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proficient in computer technology including Microsoft Office (highly proficient in Excel) and related technology
• Considerable experience with Web-based applications (e.g. Google, Zoom, etc.), using the internet for research and learning new local
and web-based computer applications (i.e.,Student Information System, FACTS Tuition Management, etc.)
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and demonstrated problem solving
• Strong relationship building and collaboration
• Requires coordination and manual dexterity, normal mental and visual ability; ability to lift as required in a normal office
and school building environments.
• Walking, sitting standing, bending, reaching, talking, handling, hearing, carrying, keyboarding, etc.
• Travels to school buildings and/or professional meetings as required; valid driver’s license
