Job Description:
The Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School Community is recruiting a transformative educator who is certified to teach Art k-12. Wintergreen was named a School of Excellence by the Magnet Schools of America. The vision at Wintergreen is “to provide all students with a safe and nurturing environment that immerses each student in the arts, grounds them in restorative behaviors, and engages their minds to ensure academic and personal success”.
Grade level teams work collaboratively to plan out content and to build skills that support the examination of themes throughout each subject area. Teachers who have a professional background in the arts, project-based learning, social-emotional learning, and/or STEAM education would be a great addition to the program.
The ideal candidate is well acquainted with the key components of restorative practices and arts integration. Candidates must have a passion for using literacy to actively engage students in rigorous and relevant topics. All educators at Wintergreen are excited about educating the whole child so that “every student leaves our school prepared with the inspiration to creAte, collaboRate, communicaTe, and diScover their passion through innovation and the ARTS” as is indicated in the school’s mission statement.

- Successful candidates must possess strong teaching qualities, care deeply for children and have good classroom management and interpersonal skills.
- Experience teaching k-8 grade students and a proven record of accomplishment of instructing diverse learners desired.
