Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Develop and administer curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
  • Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small-group instruction, and student learning.
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials for Social Studies, aligned to the CT Social Studies Standards, and translate lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student needs; conduct individual and small group instruction as needed.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials for Social Studies, aligned to the 2023 Connecticut Social Studies Standards, which are grounded in the inquiry arc outlined in the College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework.  This Framework outlines the key concepts of student inquiry, sourcing, and demonstrating an understanding of content both in- and out-of-school contexts.
  • Design and implement assignments, assessments, and rubrics that align with Standards-Based Grading (SBG) to accurately measure student proficiency on learning objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
