Job Description:
Ledyard High School is seeking a long- term substitute high school business teacher. This position is expected to begin on or about November 26, 2024 and continue through January 2025 (based on the needs of the district). The substitute will perform all of the responsibilities of the business teacher. The successful candidate will work under the general supervision of the School Administrator to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:
- Develop students' skills and competence in business
- Provide instruction in personal finance, accounting, and marketing
- Promote critical and creative thinking and analysis in all related subject areas
- Design and deliver instruction paired with assessments that align to national standards and Ledyard Public Schools curriculum
- Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to student learning through individualized and small group instruction
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom
- Ensure that student conduct conforms to the school's standards and school district policies
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent
- Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment
- Masters Degree preferred
- CT certification 010 preferred
- The daily rate for substitute teachers is $125. Please note for long term substitute positions (40+ days): The daily rate for long term substitute teachers with certification is $274.09 beyond the 40th consecutive day worked in the same assignment.
