Required Certifications & Qualifications
  • Current State of Connecticut Teaching Certificate #047 (Career and Technical Education)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Teaching certification (Elementary Education preferred)
  • Experience teaching technology or computer science in an educational setting
  • Strong understanding of ISTE standards for students and educators
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for integrating technology into teaching and learning
  • Proficiency in correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary

Essential Skills, Knowledge Performance Abilities
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement a dynamic computer education curriculum aligned with International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere where all students feel confident and encouraged to express their ideas through technology.
  • Teach students essential computer skills, digital citizenship, and safe online practices.
  • Integrate project-based learning and collaboration to enhance problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to integrate technology across various subjects and grade levels.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in computer education.
  • Cooperatively engage in the professional evaluation process with supervisor to ensure ongoing professional growth and competence
  • Effectively communicate with staff, students, and parents
  • Attend regular and special staff meetings and actively participate as a member of the educational team
  • Modify the traditional modes of delivering instructional services to reasonably accommodate students with diverse needs
  • Create and maintain a safe learning environment

  • Perform all other duties that may be assigned by the Building Administrator
