ANTICIPATED POSITIONS:1.0 School Psychologist – Long Term Substitute / HES / (Start Date 12/2/2024)   
QUALIFICATIONS: Certification Required
SALARY: $113.30 per day for the initial 40 days of school, and $51,634-$100,515 range based on Education/Experience/2023-2027 Contract after the 41st day

The Hebron Board of Education has an anticipated School Psychologist - Long Term Substitute opening at Hebron Elementary School, starting December 2, 2024.
Position Summary:
Facilitates the learning process through effective application of diagnostic, counseling, teaching and consultation skills.
General:
The School Psychologist works under the direction and supervision of the Principal and Director of Educational Services.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates behavior on the basis of clinical observations, interviews with students, teachers, other school staff and parents, reports of other professionals, review of school records and test results;
  • Analyzes the psycho-educational strengths and needs of individual child;
  • Provides educational and personal recommendations based upon psycho-educational evaluations of individual needs according to developmentally appropriate standards;
  • Interprets findings to teachers to assist them in working effectively and sensitively with students with special needs in order to strengthen academic progress;
  • Advises and counsels parents in order to facilitate the educational progress of their children;
  • Plans and implements non-biased assessment practices;
  • As requested, assists in identification of students at risk and participates in the development of treatment strategies;
  • Refers children to other professionals as appropriate;
  • Receives and processes referrals from school personnel, community agencies and families through the PPT process;
  • Refers to the PPT those students whose problems appear to significantly interfere with school performance;
  • Works with the school team to coordinate Planning and Placement Team meetings;
  • Understands and facilitates compliance with all laws, procedures, and requirements related to the PPT process;
  • Maintains records, minutes, Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and related paperwork as required by law and Pupil Personnel Services department procedures;
  • Counsels students as mandated through the PPT process;
  • Monitors implementation of programs recommended by the PPT as assigned;
  • Helps facilitate development of plans for individualizing educational programs for students;
  • Serves on the Student Support Team as required;
  • Regularly uses technology to assist in accomplishing job responsibilities and meeting school and district goals.
  • Works closely with the Director of Special Education/Pupil Personnel Services to ascertain successful execution of all therapeutic and PPT responsibilities.
