SUMMARY: The Director is responsible for operating the campus technology infrastructure in accordance with policies and regulations prescribed by the Board of Education and the Superintendent of Schools. General responsibilities include developing the budget for Technology and Information Services, incorporating technology in the curriculum program, supervising and evaluating staff, facilitating the functional operation of the technology infrastructure, and communicating effectively with parents and the school community. A cooperative relationship exists between the Director and the City of Bristol Chief Information Officer. Control of the school budget by accounts is the responsibility of the Director of Finance and Operations, while all technology programs are the responsibility of the Director of Technology. QUALIFICATIONS: ? Possess a working knowledge of computer technology and troubleshooting, networking (including operation and maintenance of network equipment and servers) ? Demonstrate ease in utilizing technology for reports, presentations, and data analysis. ? Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. ? Demonstrate effective collaborative skills to work in concert with administrative colleagues and district educators. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Supervises and annually evaluates the performance of technology personnel. ? Provides staff development technology activities that are consistent with the school system's goals. ? Provides leadership in developing and implementing goals and objectives for the instructional and administrative use of computer technology. ? Assists staff in integrating technology into instruction in cooperation with the Chief of Academics. ? Develops long and short-range plans for campus infrastructure. ? Consult with district-wide curriculum committees on the use of technology. ? Maintains the District Website. ? Develops and submits PreK-12 technology budget and seeks alternative funding through grant writing and other resources. ? Develops and oversees a maintenance program for all computer and network needs, including repair, replacement, and inventory. ? Acts as a resource to the Superintendent in developing and implementing a system-wide computer system. ? Assists building principals and school counseling personnel with the scheduling process.  Assists the Board of Education with issues related to capital improvement projects. revised 8/30/24 ? Completes assigned tasks and projects per the Director of Finance. ? Assists the Director of Finance in preparing the annual IT budget for the City, helps with the development of the Board of Education IT budget, and supervises department expenditures to ensure sound fiscal control. ? Supervises the selection, acquisition, and maintenance of all hardware equipment and appropriate software for all City and Bristol Public School systems. Evaluate and make recommendations regarding upgrades to existing systems. Ensure the maintenance of a current inventory of all computer equipment and its location, capability, and use. ? Knowledge of the following JAMF, ClassLink, ParentSquare, Web Filtering and Dark Trace.
