Job Summary:
As an in-house substitute teacher, you will be an essential member of our educational team. You will provide continuity in learning by stepping into classrooms when the regular teachers are absent. This role requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and a passion for education.
You will work with students across various grade levels, delivering lesson plans, maintaining classroom order, and supporting students' academic and personal growth. In this role, you will collaborate with teachers and school staff to ensure a seamless educational experience for our students.
Qualifications: Appropriate CT teaching certification or BA degree in elementary education or approved Region One substitute.
Working Conditions: PK-8 elementary school - flexibility is required.

- Understand and follow lesson plans
- Use technology as directed by the teacher or administrator
- Understand and apply health and safety protocols
- Collaborate effectively with staff
Requirements:
- CT Teaching Certification OR Bachelor’s Degree (college transcripts required)
- Criminal background and Department of Children and Families (DCF) records checks
- Participation in Region One Professional Development Training
Salary/Hours/Work Year:
- Salary: $135/day
- Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.
- Work Year: Will follow the 2024-2025 school calendar (August 2024-June 2025); see the attached.
