Location: Joseph Melillo Middle School
Education: Bachelors Degree required, Master degree preferred
Certification: CT Teacher certification 029 or 229
Salary: As stated in the EHEA Teacher’s Contract
Position Summary: The Math Specialist will:
Evaluation: performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of certified staff.

Position Summary: The Math Specialist will:
- Support the academic progress and growth of all students.
- Provide direct, data driven, small group instruction
- Oversee the implementation of the i-ready diagnostic assessments and individualized learning paths
- Regularly run reports to monitor students’ progress on their individualized learning paths
- Meet with and coach teachers whose students are not meeting expectations
- Utilize district and classroom assessments to guide teachers in grouping students for targeted individualized instruction during the additional Intervention/Enrichment block.
- Collaborate with the Humanities specialist to oversee the SRBI process and facilitate SRBI meetings.
- Utilize district and classroom assessments to determine strengths and weaknesses in Tier 1 instruction.
- Support classroom teachers in improving Tier 1 instruction to meet the needs of all students.
