Job Description:
History Teacher, (Full-time, 10 months, The Spire School)
Spire School in Stamford, CT, is actively recruiting for a History Teacher for the 2023-2024 School year. One to three years or more of teaching experience with middle and high school age students is required and additionally if you have experience teaching in a special education classroom it is a significant plus.
Spire is a CT State-Approved Special Education school, grades 8-12, for students with social and/or emotional challenges that impact the student's ability to thrive in a typical academic setting. Our model of individualized social-emotional wellness plans and our small group academic setting (typical class size 4-6 students) makes us unique, and 80% of our students are district-placed.
Candidates for the position must have a demonstrated passion for teaching and a collaborative style to work on a team prepared to meet the individualized needs of each student enrolled in our school. If you have had experience with this type of differentiated instruction, writing IEPs, coaching students, and daily challenges then you are a candidate for this position. Our school enrolls 60-65 students and has a very strong, established team of leaders, teachers, and Life Coaches who collaborate for the common goal of having each child reach their full personal potential.

- 1 to 3 years teaching experience to middle and high school age students
- Experience educating students who may require differentiated instruction and may have emotional and/or learning challenges
- Must hold a Connecticut History or Connecticut Special Education 7-12 certification - dual certification in Special Education a plus.
