SUMMARY
The Woodbridge School District consists of one school: Beecher Road School, a PreK-6 elementary school employing approximately 165 staff members to serve and educate approximately 860 students. A caring, creative community, Beecher Road School models and inspires the joy of lifelong learning, embraces diversity, and celebrates the unique qualities of each person. Woodbridge is one of Connecticut’s best towns, and Beecher Road School is the heart of the town. For the 2024/25 school year, the District seeks building substitutes for day-to-day employment based on building needs. You have the flexibility to determine your own schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains proper classroom management while effectively implementing daily teacher lesson plans
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher; or high school diploma or equivalent, plus experience with school-age children
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to take direction and work effectively with others
  • Background, interest, and/or expertise in elementary education
Preferred:
  • Hold or be eligible for State of Connecticut teaching certification
SALARY AND BENEFITS
This position is compensated at a daily rate of  $130 (with a bachelors degree). Hours of work are 8:15 AM until 3:15 PM. Insurance benefits are provided in accordance with federal law.
