Job Summary: The East Haven Public Schools are actively seeking applicants for substitute teaching assignments for the 2022 - 2023 school year


Substitute Teachers work in the Pre K, Elementary, Middle and/or High School levels and are called as needed.

Qualified candidates will be paid $110.00/day for non-certified or $120.00/day for actively certified teachers. 


This employee is responsible for carrying out the lesson plans of the teacher for whom he/she is substituting and meeting the duties of teaching.

• Responsible for providing continuity of instruction to students in the absence of regular faculty members.
• Instructs assigned students employing varied instructional strategies.
• Works cooperatively with colleagues, parents and administrators.
• Performs other reasonably related duties as required.
