LOCATION: Districtwide
GENERAL DUTIES:
We are seeking an outstanding leader to serve as a Director of Business and Operations who will assist the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent in specific facets of district educational administration, budgeting and operations. The individual should possess the characteristics, skills and experience necessary to provide the best possible educational services in the most effective manner.

QUALIFICATIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Accounting or a degree in School Administration
- CT School Business Administrator (085) or Intermediate Administrator Certification (092) or eligibility for durational shortage exemption (DSAP)
- Knowledge of and experience of finance and business operations, school business preferred
- Understanding of school district budgeting practices
- General knowledge in areas of payroll, fund accounting, insurance, and employee benefit programs
- Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to school business administration and educational finance
- Knowledge of collective bargaining and labor relations
- Skilled with technology, computer operations and use of information systems
- Ability to work collaboratively and to represent the district with distinction
- Strong organizational, public relations and presentation skills
- Supports the town purchasing agent in the development of bid specifications
- Administers, through the bus company management, the transportation affairs of the district
- In collaboration with the food service management company, oversees the food service program
- Knowledge of school safety and security
- Serve as a liaison to the Permanent Building Committee to oversee school construction projects
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools
