Description:
TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Planning and Preparation
1. Prepares lessons consistent with goals and objectives of the school system. Plans will reference current state learning standards.
2. Selects appropriate instructional methods and materials
3. Consults and collaborates with colleagues and parents to improve student learning
4. Differentiates instruction, provides intervention, and implements accommodations to students
5. Reviews and assists in the development and management of a student's IEP, 504 plan, or other individual plans
6. Keeps appropriate personnel informed of significant data regarding students
7. Provides appropriate lesson plans to personnel involved with your class
8. Provides appropriate written plans for substitute teachers, paraprofessional, and one-to-one assistants
9. Provides individual and small group instruction to meet the needs of students

A. Classroom Management
1. Creates and maintains a setting in which students feel emotionally and physically secure
2. Establishes and promotes standards of pupil behavior needed to foster a positive learning atmosphere
3. Organizes students into effective, flexible learning groups
4. Maintains accurate records and submits required reports within designated time limits.
5. Effectively organizes time, space, materials, and equipment for instruction
6. Creates a welcoming, open environment that promotes learning
7. Develops and posts reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures and maintains order in the classroom
8. Participates in educational planning to meet the needs of all students
