Description:
PENDING BUDGET APPROVAL. Salary as per teacher's contract. Full time position 185 days

The Early Intervention Teacher will focus on early literacy support in kindergarten and first grade. This teacher will provide direct instruction for individual and small groups of students in the classroom setting and develop and implement professional development using a mentor model for teachers and paraprofessionals. Close collaboration with general education teachers, special education teachers, specialsts, and support staff is critical to the Early Intervention Teacher's role within the professional community. Qualified applicants must be well versed in current research and instructional practice in the area of literacy, data collection and analysis and assessment and be able to facilitate professional meetings and the Child Study Team, early intervention process.

CT Elementary Educator certification required. AND one or more of the certifications listed above in addition to:

Early Childhood Certificate (113 Integrated Early Childhood / Special Education, Nursery - K, grade 1- 3)
