Description:
Primary consultation to ACES Whitney High School North, which provides a positive individualized and multifaceted program for Seriously Emotionally Disturbed high school population

Consultation components:

- Liaison with outside agencies around psychiatric and medication issues

- Attend student casings and provide guidance to program social worker, psychologist, nurse, behavioral staff and administration on medication and behavioral needs (Mental Health meetings)

- Collaborate with program staff and parents/guardians on student home issues

- Assist program staff (Nurse, SW, Psychologist and Administration) with emergency psychiatric hospital placements

- Assessment of individual medication regimes and liaison with the student's primary care physicians, psychiatrist's or neurologist with regards to medication management and side effect monitoring

- On-going education for staff concerning the potential impact of psychiatric disorders and medications on a student's performance

- Provide consultation to administration on systems issues

- Total consultation time is 5 hours a week

- CT licensure/Board Certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or CT APRN license/National Certification Board
