Director, Head Start/Early Head Start Program

Full time / Annual Position
Competitive Salary/Benefit Package
Litchfield, Connecticut
Start Date: July 1, 2008

Major Responsibilities:
- Ensure delivery of quality Head Start/Early Head Start services in compliance with state and federal laws
- Develop and manage program budget successfully
- Recruit, hire and supervise staff effectively
- Work collaboratively with community partners, schools and state and federal agencies
- Other duties, as may be assigned
- Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential function of this position

The Director of Head Start/Early Head Start works under the supervision of the Executive Director.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Social Services or related field,
Masters Degree preferred
2. A minimum of five years administrative and managerial experience
3. Strong organizational and administrative technology skills, including computer applications and
record keeping proficiency
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
5. Ability to develop and monitor budgets
