LEARNING SPECIALIST

Achievement First seeks talented, committed educators to serve as special education service providers at Amistad Academy High School in New Haven, CT. The school is based on the Achievement First model: extremely high expectations for student achievement, rigorous instruction, no-excuses discipline, and a positive, achievement-oriented school culture. A strong classroom manager and team player who believes urban students can soar to great heights will succeed in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide pull out/push in services to students with IEPS that mandate SETSS
- Coordinate and run CST meetings at the school
- Collaborate with the special education coordinator to write IEPS
- Participate in monthly meetings with special education team (all special education teachers and coordinators)
- Teach certain blocks (e.g. DI, math) to small groups of students
